Welcome to PEANuT

PEANuT is a data exploration tool designed to support nuclear energy readiness assessments of foreign nations with a focus on United States interests. It is designed according to the concept that there are many perspectives from which to view the prospect of nuclear energy development and each deserves consideration in order to make an informed decision. PEANuT encourages a comprehensive analysis of nuclear energy readiness.

Get Started

Choose a country and click the View Country Data button in the navigation pane on the left to set it as the focus country. With the focus country set, each indicator link in the Perspectives menu will display the component data of that indicator for the focus country.

If a focus country is not set, an indicator link in the Perspectives menu will bring you the “Library View” for that indicator. A “Library View” displays all the descriptive summaries related to an indicator.

Data Organization

Data used in PEANuT are organized into nested categories. The first tier is called perspectives. Perspectives represent dimensions of nuclear energy readiness. Each perspective contains a collection of indicators. Indicators are groups of correlated datasets referred to as components.

All data reflect values from their date of last update as indicated on each dataset. Please note that some data may have changed significantly since it was last updated in PEANuT. For the most recent values, please refer directly to the original data source.

With the exception of descriptive summaries, the data values in PEANuT are presented in the same form they were acquired unless a calculation or manipulation is otherwise specified.
